Burn Clean Project officially presents… BIOBUS (space) SHUTTLE 2007
Meet new lifelong friends on the BIOBUS (space) SHUTTLE to Black Rock City. You will be scooped up at Reno International and whisked to Wild Oats for a quick grocery run and then on to the playa!!! This is the first in a pilot program to lessen our cumulative impact of travel to the greatest city on Mama Earth by getting there on vegetable oil! A $55-$65 donation to Burn Clean Project will reserve a One Way ride to or from the playa, helping you to avoid burning petroleum, the cost of a car rental, and the worst part of all—scrubbing the rental car thoroughly enough so they don’t charge you a playa-sized cleaning fee! Reno International Spaceport (RNO)-Black Rock City (BRC) Monday August 27, Tuesday August 28, Wednesday August 29 (08-29 SOLD OUT) RNO Loading: 12:30-1:15pm Please make your flight reservation with plenty of time to collect your luggage and board the BIOBUS. If you are booked for a later flight, consider going to BRC with the amazing folks at BioTour.org Check for details on a 5pm biodiesel bus shuttle from RNO-BRC only. Tip: The Sun is supposedly going to set at 7:30ish. This gives you 2 hours to find your camp in the light. Having a minimum of luggage and a keen idea of how to hitch a ride to your camp will come in handy here. You will be dropped in a central location, the exact coordinates are still TBA. (We’re waiting on a BM source to tell us what’s gonna fly.) Black Rock City (BRC)-Reno International Spaceport (RNO) Sunday September 2, Monday September 3, Tuesday September 4 BRC Loading: 6-6:45am Tip: Do not be late to load. You will be left in the (playa) dust. Please make your flight reservation with plenty of time to check your luggage and board your airplane. No ride is guaranteed for you any of the following days if you miss the bus. There is a NO REFUND POLICY. Be on time. We love you. Be on time. Note: This schedule is padded so we don’t make people impatient and grumpy…you may arrive at BRC (exact location TBA) earlier in the day, but we want to air on the side of a loose schedule, not tight, and remember…just think of all the friends you can make before even stepping foot on the playa! Each leg of the journey is sold separately. There are 30 spaces per shuttle. Here are the steps to booking your seats: 1. CHECK TIMES. Check www.burncleanproject.org on the homepage under the entry: “Spaces Available on the BIOBUS (space) SHUTTLE ” to see what times and dates are remaining. 2. SEND YOUR REQUEST. Send a request for the time slot(s) and dates you would like to book to: connect@burncleanproject.org along with the amount of money ($55-65) you plan to donate, your phone #, and the best email address to send you updates. 3. CHECK YOUR EMAIL. BCP will send you an email notice of whether your times are available and if they are, then you will receive a PayPal invoice for the amount of a One Way or Roundtrip, depending on your request 4. PAY IN 24 HRS & BE 100% SURE! Pay the PayPal invoice within 24 hours of receiving it OR YOUR SEAT REQUESTS WILL BE GIVEN AWAY. PayPal accepts Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Discover, PayPal, or a Bank Transfer. You may donate anywhere from $55-$65 for a guaranteed One Way or $110-$130 for a Roundtrip reservation. Be 100% sure when you book, as there is a NO REFUND POLICY. 5. PACK LIGHT. There is space for you to have 2 pieces of luggage and 2 bags of groceries plus water from Wild Oats. No bicyclettes, bikes, trikes, segways, scooters…you get it…we ain’t got room. Have your friends bring a bike for you or have one shipped. 6. KNOW YOUR ID. Arrive at Reno Int’l at Ground Transportation or at the pick-up location (TBA) in Black Rock City knowing two things: Your Name (bless you if this is in question, which it may be on the return trip) and Your ID # that we will send with your confirmation. You may want to tattoo these things on yourself… or just place them inside your wallet.
8. SPREAD THE WORD. To make this mission happen, as many of the seats must be reserved as possible. Tell all your burner friends to book early! If the BIOBUS is a success this year, the project will most likely expand to carry many more people in a sustainable way to the playa for years to come. So, forward this link! Large groups are welcome! Book your trip early as there is limited space! xxooxoxooxx, Ryan and 1-LUV and

Excited for a 2008 schedule! I hope things work out for this year. Cyn mentions tiding the train, hey! I will be riding on Amtrak into Reno from a few thousand miles away…. maybe I could make the entire trip without being in an automobile..

Does anybody know of a ride from the Reno airport to the Playa on Wednesday Sept 2 afternoon? It appears most the rides stop on Tuesday. Thanks, Peter
1luv on August 10th, 2009 at 5:56 pm #
Yep. Go to BurnCleanProject.org and register on the Wednesday shuttle at noon. If that’s too early, get on the 5pm bus, run by Biotour.org. Or you can check the BM rideshare board. Or you can hitch. Read the Transport section of this website. Good luck!
